I currently work in Revenue Cycle Management and I’m so unhappy. I started my career with BCBS processing claims and that was a dream. I would take a pay cut just to go back to that. I’m trying to transition out of RCM and into something else that will let me build off what I already know and still allow me to work from home. I’m considering getting my RHIT. Thoughts? Advice? Suggestions?

I know colleagues that have remote jobs working with the EMR. Have you tried looking for those?

like

Yes, most of them require specific experience or a credential.

I’m interviewing at a vaccine solution IT company and they are hiring for a Pre-Billing RCM lead position. I thought since you’re coming from this field you may have some insight. Most ppl in their company don’t come from a healthcare background and are looking for someone who is. When I did the pre-screening prior to my 1st interview (going on a 2nd) the recruiter was saying salary was around 45k. I feel as though this is low. I have a 4 year degree and 10+ yoe in healthcare, insurance, some leadership, etc. What I don’t have is experience in SQL, Tableau, Data Visualization, or analytics. However, I signed up for some classes on Coursera.com because i want to make the career change. I wanted to know what the salary looks like for an entry level Billing/RCM analyst in Florida or even national average? I want to be ready to negotiate and leverage my transferable skills.

Hi All, just sharing what on mind to vent it out from my system. Maybe with this I could gain some insights and inspiration.
I have been working as a data scientist since 2018 & have been the bread winner. I have neither been under a proper mentor nor with a team of peers from my field to help me out. I was alone and confused. I have never really got the chance to prove myself which makes me all the more depressed. I'm not sure what to do with my future, indecisive and low on confidence.
