After two weeks, companies should expect that the message a candidate has received is that there is no interest and has moved on.
Oops sorry, I had initially read that companies are hoping to send the message that they’re not interested after 2 weeks. I have decided to decline some interviews because not only did they take forever to reach out, but my initial interactions with them were not great and they didn’t try to catch up.
yes
They don’t want you bro.
I know. I feel you. 🥲
You can follow up but typically longer than a month means they’re not interested.
I probably should have caveated by also saying can depend on who is doing the recruiting/hiring and how busy they are as well.
I was told by a firm in 2019 I’d come back for a second interview. After, they ghosted me. Last month, a recruiter asked if I wanted to submit my resume there. I explained 2019 and said sure. It’s been a month and the recruiter is still waiting on an answer as to whether they want to interview me. One would think I would have learned my lesson after the first time….
Sometimes we give the benefit of the doubt too much.
Were they expecting your application? If you (generic you) cold applied and haven’t heard anything, you’re probably not a back-up but were already rejected/ghosted. Source: me, who’s been applying for a while.
