Going by the guidelines of previous years, you will not get bonus if you resign before your email for bonus has come. Actually, many wait to get money deposited in their account, before they send TATA email, just it be sure. 😂
But this year is different - bonus email will come in June, while payout will happen during Sept. So better wait till the bonus email has come - it should have detailed information.
In EY India, the policy is clear. You should not be on notice period during the disbursement of the bonus in September. So if you're on notice in June, you're definitely not getting the bonus this year.
It is unfair since the bonus is paid for the efforts during the previous financial year but it's one of the things companies do to make you stick around a little bit longer or make it sting if you leave.
Also, Analysts don't get a bonus in EY India. I'm not sure of your title but posting it here in case it helps.
