Deloitte’s always done this. Pretty well known for a complete lack of concern for their culture or employees. They know their reputation and partner carrot will carry them just fine.
I knew that even as 5th highest CSH in the region, I could straight up not trust Deloitte to back me when the next contraction hit, so I left 2 years back when I could still sell my house.
Moving to Deloitte as an experienced hire was the worst decision I’ve made in my career. Happy that I’m out and will be starting with another firm. Never going back
Wow! You all are hitting the nail in the head with your comments. I agree with everyone! Tone is set at the top and the toxic culture is a result of the frat culture as well as the values (or lack of) the leadership has. I was appalled to see the partners’ petty mentality and childish behavior.
Some good people but horrible culture!
Happy I went with PwC over Deloitte. PwC hasn’t resorted to layoffs yet or pay cuts. While some are upset with the bonus decision I’m just happy to be employed.
Aka bell curve just no bell now just a 🔔
I expect the other firms will do lay off soon. Deloitte‘s year end was just earlier than the others.
Mentor
Nope. An ex-P partner who is now a D partner.
Because they have done this before and no one cares. Campus recruits don’t care or don’t get the message either. In my city DT has had more layoffs than the other Big 3 combined and frankly it’s not close.
I am coming back to this post as now some people are saying EY and PWC are laying off but it is framed as performance related. If this is true, Deloitte probably turned out to be the most honest and upfront about it. This world feels doubly cold and harsh.
Haven’t seen or heard of any people being laid off, just people quitting
We are way over leveraged with consulting. We need to stop pretending to be M/B/B and get back to our roots as a compliance firm.
Which other big 4 is better? Or are they all the same?
Pwc also has major revenue/employee which imo
Is much more telling than total revenue (looking at you deloitte consulting).
Did Deloitte give raises to the people not laid off?
That too is nominal.
