If you are taking a new role/company ask for the non-compete before you start or sign anything. These things have gotten out of control with the FTC backing down. They now throw it on you after you start and you're basically screwed at that point.

Non Comps are enforced at the state level, as long as you work in a blue state they are pretty much void. Plus, most of the time it will cost more in legal fees than its worth

The rate of enforcement in service industry is pretty low, wouldn't worry about it. Plus if you live in CA, they're moot.

You need representation! Retain an employment/non compete specialist law firm attorney to begin advocating for your rights immediately and limiting your liability. They can also negotiate with the firm on your behalf.

How would you go about finding a remote AE role with a 100k base?

I have about 7-8 years of sales experience and have consistently out performed my OTE. I absolutely love my current role but I feel like I have out grown the company as there isn't a ton of opportunity to make more than I am currently making.

I opened up my LinkedIn to recruiters but all the offers are 60-70k base and 120-140k OTE. I am shooting for MINIMUM 80k base but ideally 100k or more.

What would you do?

Seeking advice: I am a young sales consultant and sales engineer working for a tech startup company. I have 6 years of sales experience. And I have been helping run my family business for the past 10 years. I was intially interviewed for a senior account executive position at a $70k offer. Instead they told me I needed more training and hired me as a Junior account executive at a $50k salary + commission. Today is my 6th month mark and I have done very well. And no talks of a promotion / raise..
