Project management is a career dead end. Probably better to try and become an engineering manager, technical architect, product manager, or even data science manager
Project manager means you receive marching orders and purely execute and manage status/budget. Product managers determine what gets built. Therefore you are working with customers, UX, engineering, etc to solve customer problems. More creativity, freedom, and upward mobility in product management. Nearly all tech companies have done away with project managers. Only old, slow enterprises still have them, which is why PO1 said it's a "career dead end", which I agree with.
