You’re going to be fine; and when you struggle, don’t worry, because you are learning invaluable lessons that you’d likely never learn otherwise. Also: be your own advocate, and be relentless about it. Even the best boss can never look out for you like you can look out for yourself. And finally: mental and physical health underlie and enable any lasting success you will have. Take care of yourself, your mind and your body.
Just like you put 20% of your salary toward savings, put at least 20% of your time toward improving your portfolio. It’s the ONLY thing that matters to your career, and it’s what’s going to keep you in demand.
Also, when you get laid off, work your ass off to find another job **the very next day**. Because the longer you go without a gig, the harder it is to get back into it.
Take every single day of your vacation time. You earned it.

Don’t let the fact that others are long winded and passive aggressive ruin your confidence. When the conversation has gone on too long, with 20 people saying the same things, it’s perfectly fine to not pile on your opinion just to get yourself heard.

Golden handcuffs isn’t a joke. You will become accustomed to, and eventually dependent on, the high salary etc. Don’t do it. Run. Find another way to make a living. None of this is worth what it will do to your soul.
