If you could go back in time and do one thing in your career differently, what would it be? I know it's not usually worth worrying about what ifs, but it is worth reflecting on things now that you know more than you did.

Focused on moving in-house earlier in career

There are some junior litigation roles, and there’s an opportunity to pivot early on (which I hadn’t really considered until it was too late). Then there are more senior litigation in-house roles, which are highly competitive. And a lot of the tech-focused ones want to see patent prosecution experience as well.

Listen when alum of a workplace tell you to stay away.

Planning a trip to Rome and Naples with day trips to Tivoli and Pompeii. Is 1 week enough? I feel like reading through 3/4 day Rome and 2 day Naples itineraries, the trip seems rushed. I have unlimited PTO but my SO is limited in time (but luckily he can work extra hrs and then use less PTO). I would say max we could do is 1.5 weeks but adding on 3-5 more days seems almost too much? Thoughts? For reference, I did Venice-Florence-Rome in a week and it seemed okay but it also wasn’t as planned out

I have a partner that calls me multiple times a day to talk about updates on our cases. Sometimes just to ask “anything to update me on?” He’s known across all of the associates for doing this. Most of the calls repeat information I’ve already provided in emails to him or the client. I normally bill this time as “strategize on” or “consider XYZ in further of” and it keeps getting appealed. Any advice?
