Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

I’d never work at a startup again….. structure, stability, and an actual HR dept — all necessary for me.
I’m impressed with your self knowledge on this. I wonder about this for myself. Went from a large 4000 person publicly traded company to 6 people and it still feels odd some days. SO unstructured- I am the structure in my role and that feel precarious somehow. They want to grow and that’s the only way I can make more $ but don’t seem to want to do the work…
Following this one for sure:) I don’t think I have any I would stay clear of because even the most dysfunctional I learnt something from the experience.
What do you feel would make up the right fit for you? Is there something you’re hoping to achieve with your skills at this stage of your career?
That's a great question! Right now I get a lot of fulfillment from directly managing others, and working on business initiatives for organizational change. I love client work, but I'm not sure how much additional growth I'll get out of bigger clients at this point.
