If you find a company you want to work for but they’re not hiring.. send the HR Manager a LinkedIn message, DON’T attach a resumé, say you’d love to stay in touch until a position opens to learn more about X company. Don’t hear back? Email their work email a few weeks later (a lot of times let you have it off the main line, you can say you’re a candidate it doesn’t matter), attach your resumé and say, “Hey I messaged you a few weeks back on LinkedIn and forgot to attach a resumé.”

First time poster here!

After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Or "Maybe in 6 months!"

I'm testing SPHR in June. Any advice for securing the type of role I'm aiming for?

Have you told your employer about your ADHD diagnosis? If you have then how have it benefited you? If you haven’t then why do you think it was the right move not to tell? I’m contemplating if I should tell my employer or not.

Does anyone have ideas on how to navigate a smaller team environment when everyone’s roles seem to be stretched (hiring for additional people has been taking a while, not sure why). The stress causes some tension and that’s probably not great for the overall morale of the company long-term. I try to ignore and just stay focused on what I need to do yet sometimes proves challenging. I worry it might affect my professional/career growth. Thoughts on this would be helpful, thanks!

I made a mistake at work yesterday and my boss was being super mean about it. How do I move past this?

Working for a senior who is beyond horrible. She talks to you like you’re stupid and makes it sound like you’re absolutely terrible at what you’re doing. She’s made 5 other associates cry during her 5 year career. Got someone fired and made another person quit. It’s known around the office that she can no longer have a female associate, because she talks down to females more than she does males. I came along and thought I could deal with it but she literally makes me want to not log on tomorrow.

Hi all. I was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder type 2 and it’s been hard to heal with the ups and downs of a very competitive sales position in the current market.
