What are your thoughts on SF belts?
Off topic: I am stuck in a service based company for last 4 years in a shitty project. The work I do can be done by a 12th grader. Now i want to move out by learning something new & changing my domain. But the thing is I am not able to study because I am stuck in a comfort zone and learning new thing gives me bad anxiety. It feels like I will never learn & be forever stuck here. Pls help on how to come out of comfort zone, learn things and apply for the job. Tata Consultancy Infosys Wipro

Brand works better in good agencies. Otherwise growth might be limited, no personal knowledge about it. Brand and Identity is usually not something companies are capable to do themseves fully. I don’t see a proper career track for brand designer in companies. Also within brand I didn’t understand what particular role you have in mind. Brand & Identity design is usually done by Graphic Designers.
Second clear answer is UX will be more easier if you seek employment in coming years. Making money in brand would work if you are super good and either as an art director in design or advertising agency or in corporate/tech startups. And it’s also about versatility. If i were in your place i would think on these parameters. If i am someone top 5% or can become that then it will always have a space in future. Communication design which is a umbrella discipline will never die till humans stay.
ux is also is no less than challenging. Think about career track. and what kind of life you want to lead. Pay varies immensely based on how fast you grow and how good you are.
But if i had to pick i will continue working on brand on the side and focus on ux track. and choose roles very carefully.

Both have good growth. Phygital is going to become more common. With metaverse, XR, both are going to grow. UX field will probably saturate and transform into something new. Digital is here to stay but transform.
It also depends on how you benchmark at the global level. Double down on things that you think you can excel better. You might be good at both but there’s always a specialized area you bring to table that others don’t. Ask your peers, friends.
There are a lot of transfering skills whoever works in UX. what would makes sense is to have a mastery in one, where only a few will exist in 15 years time.
Second i feel your TC is lower than it should be for that years of experience.
Yes I agree, both verticals have scope. It is interesting to have this choice at this point. Am I correct to understand that you suggest brand to be a more future proof option? Or do you still suggest UXUI as the place to be even with its chances of adaption into something else in the upcoming years?
Wrt TC - I will be revisiting this with my current company shortly to negotiate, 25-30% is what I am expecting.
Also am I correct in understanding that there is a disparity in the TC of brand designers vs UXUI designers? And that purely in terms of remuneration UXUI is the most fruitful?
By Brand I meant umbrella of Communication yes. Leading roles in communication comprising of print, brand activations, vm, digital, ads, videos etc.
