Been in Seattle for ~1 year and something I’ve observed is the constant s*it-talking of the city from the locals. Is this because they haven’t experienced other places? While the current homelessness in the city needs to be handled, crime is still relatively low compared to other major cities. The complaints about gloominess also seems a bit dramatic. So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me.
