Amp on what C1 said. These companies have matured a lot since 2004, OP. There’s plenty of opportunity for growth, particularly if you want to venture outside typical “consulting”
roles.

I'm joining AWS as a middle manager making the same TC first year partners will make. The RSUs stand the chance to be just as lucrative over time, and I can get it at HQ2 near DC

smartlike

Amazon L6 and L7 (the middle manager ranks) make anywhere from 250-550 mixed cash and RSUs.

Alphabet’s new CEO Sundar Pichai joined Google in 2004 from McKinsey when the firm was much much smaller. That fast growth area is behind us. Google’s market cap won’t go up another 10 fold in the next decade. Also anti-trust laws and other government restrictions can hit the tech giants.

Some people can still argue that adding these names to your CV is great. Is that your main motivation?

Hi
Would love to get your opinion on this-
I am planning on applying to business school this year in round 1 and round 2. I am in india working at D. I have received an offer to work with another big 4 in London as manager with their consulting team starting June. The role is definitely a step up in terms of responsibilities from my current role as a senior consultant. Do you think it might hamper my business school application changing jobs so close to round 1? Have been at D for 4 yrs

Does anyone regret joining a boutique consulting firm? I signed with a startup out of college (spring 2020) whose founding partners were all partners/Sr leaders at a few T2s. Our firm is super small (dozen FTEs) but does really good work (we charge premium rates and work super cool projects). I’m just having second thoughts as exit opportunities aren’t as prevalent as I thought, the pay/benefits don’t match industry/risk of joint a startup, and I’m not getting the network of a Big4 or MBB

Canadian Opinions?

13 yr outside Sales Experience in the B2B space, multiple roles/companies. Current quota is $15MCAD, I usually do not bad in quota but lately has shifted to rewarding medicorciy and "pooling" some numbers countrywide which i really dont like.
Current comp is $85k Base and $115 OTE with a ceiling of $150k CAD/$120k US. Feel it's too little for my experience and they are taking perks away by the day.
Thinking of moving to I tech sales? Anyone else do it? What's comp look like?

Due to a family situation we are looking to move to a different state. Normally we would sell our current home and buy a new home in our new location. However, with todays prices and interest, will it make more sense to rent out our current home and rent a home ourselves vs. selling and buying immediately when we move? We are moving from Vegas to Sacramento and we are not sure how long we would stay in the new area. Thoughts?

Social media is changing, from IG going to video and Twitter….well. It has become clear how important focusing on multiple social media channels can be.
