Amp on what C1 said. These companies have matured a lot since 2004, OP. There’s plenty of opportunity for growth, particularly if you want to venture outside typical “consulting”
roles.
I'm joining AWS as a middle manager making the same TC first year partners will make. The RSUs stand the chance to be just as lucrative over time, and I can get it at HQ2 near DC
Amazon L6 and L7 (the middle manager ranks) make anywhere from 250-550 mixed cash and RSUs.
Dream job is Google in Madison, WI or Montreal. No need to live in SF. Now I just need to get that PhD...
Alphabet’s new CEO Sundar Pichai joined Google in 2004 from McKinsey when the firm was much much smaller. That fast growth area is behind us. Google’s market cap won’t go up another 10 fold in the next decade. Also anti-trust laws and other government restrictions can hit the tech giants.
Some people can still argue that adding these names to your CV is great. Is that your main motivation?
