I live just under an hour away from the office. I originally took this job because it was remote. However, they revoked the remote part of my position have me coming in to the office full-time now.

Damn that's a rough shift. Are you going to look for another job then that's either closer (since most places are starting to require people to come back to the office) or allows you to work remote?
I work remotely at the moment, but I previously worked in the office, where I had a 40-minute commute. They never pay for transportation, and working remotely wasn't on the table. That's why I left! My life is so much simpler now!

Happy that you're able to work remote (and hope it's still that way)! Does your company not even help by having a program that lets you use pre tax dollars to put towards transportation?
I fortunate in that I went remote when everyone else did and I've stayed that way. Before I worked from my apartment I'd have a commute of about 40 minutes each way, door to door. If I had to start going in now I'd be unhappy about it, but I guess I'd adjust if I had to.

Yea 40 minutes is rough (not the worst but also not ideal). Glad you were able to find a place where you can work remote but yea I feel like most people have been adjusting as more places are starting to require some sort of return to office
My commute is 20 minutes one way. It honestly isn't bad and I really don't mind it. It gives me time to unwind on the way home.

That's one of the good things about working in office (and there's not many lmao). Being able to separate work from personal time actually can be so helpful in decompressing
Orginally was remote then started going in office twice a week with two hour commute. Fired my whole team now back to remote

A 2 hour commute is crazy. I don't know how you were doing it but at least you're back to remote now
