If you were to quit your job or get laid off today how long do you think it would take you to find another job? I feel like it wouldn’t take me long but maybe I’m ignorant.

I don't share your optimism. Everything I've been reading lately makes me think it would be months at a minimum. There are tons of people out of work competing for very few jobs.

like

True but I think it’s because a lot of people aren’t in regulatory so I feel a bit better

I quit my job this May because I don't think this fit my long-term goals. However, it took my 5 years until I get another offer. I now feel fortunate to get this offer.

4 months.
I needed a break but I stopped end on January, started applying in June, I was head hunted in September, a lower role and short term but suited me fine, so started in October.

I don’t think it would take me long to find a job of any kind. To find a job doing what I’m doing at a similar level, no idea how long that might take.

like

Hm that’s a good point

I think I would have to move to have any chance of landing something quickly

Got laid off in May and despite submitting 50+ resumes, I got 2 screening interviews and no offers. It’s rough out there in my area/ field.

I've been looking for work for two years since graduation now. It would definitely depend on who you know to get another position right now.

like

I was looking for about 7 months but I had a job so I wasn’t as serious as I could have been

I know a CRC who was laid off and it took them a month to find a job. Just depends on experience etc

I’d be able to find some kind of placement within a month but that’s because there are several plants going up near me

I’d be forced to go in 5 days a week though rather than hybrid

True I definitely wouldn’t be remote anymore. I would at least be hybrid

It took me about 2–3 months to find another job, applying every day to postings related to research coordination and clinical trials. In the current climate, it feels much harder to secure roles in this field due to ongoing cuts in research. With fewer positions available and more applicants competing, the job market has become significantly more competitive.

I saw the question before but it has died so I’ll ask again, what is your job title & base salary. Years of experience and bonus structure would be nice to but not necessary.

I’ll go first, I have 5 YOE, currently am a technical consultant, 110k with a up to 5k bonus per quarter based on MBOs.

For some time now, series about the pre-end of the world time is becoming more and more popular, this is the case with "The Handmaid's Tales" it has a perfect image design, characters with a perfectly defined background, and the ability to represent a totally possible pre-apocalyptic world. It has it all. Any other series with these features?

Should I continue to live at my parents house in the Midwest as things start to open back up or move back to my assigned office city on the east coast? I’ve been saving a lot of money, but I don’t have any friends out here in suburbia. I’m only 25, no student loans, and kind of want to live the city life and make some friends, but I’m hesitant because this high savings rate is really nice and my project at work would be remote even without covid, so I don’t HAVE to move out anytime soon

I’ve had radio silence from a small investment bank for about a week now. I’ve completed several rounds of interviews, but last Thursday the firm reposted the job I’ve been interviewing for. On Friday the headhunter said that they’re not sourcing new candidates and it’s probably just LinkedIn automatically refreshing the listing. She said they had a busy week last week but will make a final decision this week - is the delay and radio silence a bad sign or is this typical for experienced hiring?

I came from a consulting background in tax credits and incentives. I went into finance to pass the time on my non compete clause from my previous firm, but now I have an interview at EY and I’m not sure if I want to give up the work life balance. Any advice?

I’m asking to get my notice period waived. I have a 30 day notice period per the employment agreement I signed, but it says they can waive it at any time after I gave notice. Im not going to a competitor or even the same industry. How likely is for my current firm to allow this?

I currently work at a medium sized firm and have about two years experience in personal injury litigation. The billable hours and lack of work life balance are really getting to me and I am looking to switch to something else out of litigation, preferably in house. I am also looking to relocate to a different state. How do I go about properly marketing myself to companies that might not take my relocation and minimal experience seriously?

Need help settling a debate with my friend. She thinks I will have an easier time getting research grants because I'm male. Which one of us is more right than the other? I'm interested in getting as many viewpoints as possible, whether or not they agree with me or with her. Thanks!!!

I want the title and the money owed which may be about $15000- 20000.
