Did anyone here have a professor or mentor that changed their life and got them into this industry?

I had a professor who got me interested in this industry. She was passionate about science and showed us how to appreciate it on a deeper level. She would always bring in new papers to show us and we would have long discussions about them. I think she changed my life and got me interested in this industry.

Dr. Smith was my chemistry professor in college. He was an amazing teacher and he made chemistry interesting and fun. He showed me that science could be a passion and a career. He encouraged me to pursue a career in science and research, and he helped me get started in my career. I owe a lot to Dr. Smith, and I consider him to be my mentor and my friend. He has definitely changed my life for the better, and I am grateful for everything he has done for me.

I never had a professor or mentor that changed my life and got me into science and research. instead, they were always frustrating and unhelpful. I learned that doing it by myself is the way to go.

Hi, any lead technical consultants at Perficient out here. What is the average good pay considered for this role. Just got interviewed for this position and would want to know a rough $$ figure before my negotiation with HR.

Also, can you please highlight job stability within Perficient. Do they have a bench policy in case a project gets over.

Hi guys

I worked as a technical PM for a medium-sized adtech company in NYC in charge of 2 technical teams, and the business intelligence team.

On Thursday I was informed by the lead PO and HR that leadership had decided that the project management office was no longer necessary for the company and all three of us, the director and the two technical PMs, were being let go. None of us were given any notice.

They offered me 2 weeks of severance pay and I negotiated it to 3.

I am project manager in clinical research industry (CRO). After earning PhD, I gave up my science dream to take a more stable job. After slowly climbing the ladders, I feel like I finally got a seat at the table. Half the days I like the hustle, but now I miss being creative. I want to take more brainstorming, decision making responsibilities but I don’t see that in the career path for PM. Career path usually goes like this- Sr PM, Director l, Sr Director, and so on. But all do same work.

Have you ever worked on a government research project? Can you share anything about your experience? Curious if it’s something I might be interested in pursuing
