What is your style? Are you wearing too-cadual clothes to work? If so, stop!

Start by building a capsule wardrobe of a few pairs of slacks and a few skirts, and a few tops, and a few sweaters. Pick one base color--navy, Grey, black or cream. Build from there. Avoid patterns if the capsule wardrobe is small. Make sure all your clothes are on good repair--fitted appropriately/right size, no holes, no billing, no snags.

For more advice, read corporette. It's a blog. have many blog posts on affordable basics and where to shop.

If you’re looking to save, I’ve had great luck with Uniqlo and Amazon for professional pieces that still have some personality.

Stitch fix helped me. I was pretty much a hot mess until I signed up. I don't like clothes shopping for myself, so I'm not missing out. Got a nice new wardrobe and then a new job where I can wear jeans every day.

Have you looked on pinterest to get some inspiration? I will often look on there for outfits that I like together and then will try to find things in my close that are similar that I can piece together and make cute. Sometimes its all about how you style the clothes.

I was doing some googling and I saw that PWC offers MBA hires 45k in comparison to MBBs at 70k +. Is this a bad joke? I can't imagine that PWC's target for MBA hires is widely different from MBB. In the US, the pay gap isn't that wide. Any reason behind this madness?

Read that McK is paying 2K higher than BCG this year which means BCG will probably raise again next year to at least match. However, they can’t just copy McK with 2K to match because that would look bad so they’ll have to beat it again. Then McK and Bain will follow. Barring a devastating recession, I’m guessing this means MBB is all getting raises again next year?

Paralegals: My firm is looking for a paralegal, and I see the job posting advertising the salary as $65-$75k, with benefits. Is this a good salary for a paralegal (Greater LA area)? I’m not the decision maker, but it’s been a few weeks with very few applicants. I’m curious if there’s something hurting the firm in its search.

Have a great weekend Paralegals ✌️

Currently a paralegal at a small start up financial services company been there for just a little over a year. I wear “multiple hats” but more recently I’ve done a lot of PM work and some BA work. My position title is changing soon but I’m wondering how helpful that would be for wanting to go into PM work at a tech company. Anyone have any career pivot advice? (Also I’m only 1.5yrs old in my career so I’m definitely still new, and I have previous experience as a project assistant).

I did it! I got an in-house Paralegal position after years of working and being burned out at different law firms. I was going to leave the legal field all together because I was so burned out and depressed, but I decided to give the field one more chance if I was able to go in-house. Prayerfully, this transition will be a good one.
