If you have cash that you want to invest. Please consider Treasury Series I Savings Bond (Electronic). Interest is 7.12% right now. While it's not guaranteed that the 7.12% will remain until next year, it's still a good deal.
My SO and I just invested 20k (10k max per person even married).

I’m a 7th year in big law (big tech clients), and felt the same so started just cold-emailing family law practitioners. One thing led to another, and I’m now quitting my job to start family law, which was why I went to law school in the first place. I’m basically starting over, but dang, it feels so good. It can be done — you just need to talk to people that are willing to help you.
You cite lack of passion and think becoming a tax attorney is the answer? 🤣
Agree with both above. Start asking for the work you want and network with the people you want to work with. Experience over LLM at this point. (If I see one more person with CIPP and no experience to back it up who want a job in privacy my eyeballs may roll all the way out my head.)
If you can’t make the switch with what you bring to the table now, get the LLM. Shows you’re serious about moving to tax. But go to a good program, not some diploma mill. In any event don’t waste more years doing something you don’t love.
