I’m a compliance associate at Morgan Stanley on track for a promotion. I am now thinking about jumping into an FAA program focused on international WM or looking for opportunities in investment banking. I haven't yet decided whether to stay in the firm or start looking at other places (JP, Goldman Sachs). The main goal is to have some independence and to be in the front office. Does my background in compliance help? Should I wait until the promotion? WM or Investment? MS or GS? Please advise. Ty

It’s a lot easier to move AM > WM then it is to go the other way.

You can pivot out of compliance. I suggest making connections both through your own efforts and asking your manager and team to introduce you to other people outside of compliance. I’ve seen a lot of flexibility at MS and having experience in one area of the business lends itself well to other areas.

Which one should I go for?

1. Oracle - 18.3 LPA fixed + probable bonus (I may or may not get)
2. Amadeus - 18 fixed + 1.5 variable.

Amadeus is also giving joining bonus of 75k. Amadeus is paying more, may give better hikes too, but I am finding it hard to let go off Oracle's brand name on my resume even if it's means around 2L less over an year. I am planning to work for atleast 3 years in my next company.

What would you have done in my place? Should I go for Oracle or Amadeus?

CFP study programs:

I'm a little confused on Danko - does he offer a self-study option for the coursework requirement? On his website it looks like each module has a 4-day virtual class which I wouldn't be able to attend due to working full time. Does this program also include self-study material, and the classes are just supplementary/optional? I was also looking at Dalton for self-study and Danko for test prep. Thoughts?
