When I was a Senior at KPMG's Internal Audit & Enterprise Risk service line in 2020, I pulled over a Tax Associate friend into my group. Required a lot of buy-in and flexibility from their managers and the destination team's managing director, but it's doable. I'd recommend voicing this desire ASAP (bc you will take a little experience setback by making the jump, so earlier is better) and getting to know people in the group you want to join (so that they can answer your questions, guide you through the transition process, and vouch for you). Best of luck!
Your plan makes perfect sense, and there's no shame in voicing this goal to your PA - in fact, that's the most important step to take here IMO, since it puts all the logistical steps into motion. In my general experience, Risk Advisory is a high growth / revenue driving segment of most firms' consulting lines, so this is usually a well supported move by the higher-ups too!
