Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?
Hi all, I just got a job offer at PwC for a senior consultant position. The salary is 30% above my total comp right now, but I’m just worried about the amount of work I will have to put in compared to my amazing work life balance now. Does anyone have any experience moving from industry to consulting? I need some advice on what to do. I’m still early in my career (1.4yoe) so I feel like I shouldn’t care too much about wlb, but at the same time, I don’t want my mental health to suffer either.

Internal audit, though at an IB is still IA. The analyst will probably provide better experience to get you where you’d like to be in the future

That's an insane offer for IA. Even for NYC... that being said, I wouldn't get into IA if you wanna be a CFO
What IB is offering that for an AVP? I would expect more like 120 for HCOL and 100k for MCOL
Offer 2. The base is lower but it opens more doors than IA and also it’s 100% remote.
Advisory opens more doors because you gain exposure to a variety of clients in different industries, complex accounting issues, and transactions/deals. This experience can be leveraged for a variety of accounting, finance, PE, and technology career opportunities. External Audit is recalculation and disclosures. Internal audit is a compliance specialization that leads to more compliance and is hard to break out of the longer you stay.
Without a CPA, you are rolling thunder! CFOs don't even need CPA these days. I recommend offer 1 for that path.
Technical accounting isn’t opening CFO doors….CAO at best (which isn’t bad!)
Internal audit sucks but if you could use that extra income to invest and then go back for a MBA I would probably say do that
