I'm a Senior QA in TW with 7 years of experience. My current salary is 14 LPA, which is way too low compared to the market. I now have an offer from Elsevier for 21.5 LPA fixed + 20% variable. Is this a fair deal? I still feel it's on the lower side, and I’d like to understand how Elsevier typically pays. I also have other interviews in the final rounds, and my notice period ends in a week and joining date is approaching.

I am planning to shift to Data Analyst/Data scientist role. Right now i work for a project where I'm a software eng & we have to maintain our application on C++ code. It is more like support/dev and unit testing combined. Coding is hardly involved and my hold on DS is weak so not sure if I'll be able to crack technical interviews for C++ dev or anything similar.
So is this a right decision to move from application dev role to Data Science/analyst field? Does software engineer gets paid more?

Would you lie to get an offer from dream company? Let’s say you did pretty good at interview, and the company (Google) is willing to give you an offer, but team lead at the end of interview asks you about GPA or experience on your resume, etc. Like in reality you got GPA 2.0, but u told them your GPA is 3.5 Would you take a risk and lie?
