I'm an Analyst at an investment management fund focused on long-only public equities. I'm aiming for Portfolio Manager as the next logical career move. I wanted to ask what are the key traits that other PMs feel are key to getting promoted or seen their colleagues get promoted from Analyst to PM.

What are your thoughts of switching jobs in the beginning of this recession? Would you stay if you had seniority? Current company’s a start up that has 18 months of run way but budgets are tight for next year. Acquired tons of sites and has 3000 employees. Thinking of leaving for smaller pharmas.

1st yr at a nyc v50 firm doing general transactional work. I know the lateral market for transactional lawyers is hot but not as hot for juniors. I just want a change of scenery because my current firm is bleeding good associates / not giving great training imo / and just seems small. Would lateralling this early feasible? Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Does anybody work at Allspring? They did not provide any information regarding benefits, 401k match, or any annual bonus structure. I was told, verbally, that the Bank of America bonus is something like 15 to 20%, but nothing in writing.
