Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

I think they're obviously not valuing you or interested in showing you that they want to keep you around. It's a harsh truth to learn but i do think you need to move on. If they've been telling you the same thing for years, I don't see them changing anytime in the future
Gosh, I'm really sorry to hear that. Your feelings of being disregarded are totally valid. I would encourage you to start looking for another job and see what you can find. Maybe they will increase your pay if you say you have another offer? It sucks that you have to do that, but it sounds like that's what other people have done.
I bet your executive receives/received a healthy amount of options/RSU’s …. Tell them you’ll take that kind of compensation-it does not cost them anything in their budget, simply on paper as a future….
It sounds like they value keeping people when they’re about to leave, but might not value employees at least in terms of comp increases as much otherwise. Could you look around for other opportunities to get a sense for what a good base for your skills would be, and then use that to discuss with your current company?
