I’m currently planning my next career move by the end of next year and I would love to seek views of others ahead of me in their careers. Currently in Big4 accounting advisory. Next Career path I’m considering is the route to CFO which I believe would start from Finance Controller position.

For people who has walked this path, how did you go about it? Did you get to have an executive Head hunter who guided you through this path or was it via visibility on LinkedIn or any other thing you did?

Industry vets - in your experience how recession proof is insurance? I was not yet in the job market last recession but I watched my mom get laid off and struggle to find employment during that time for the next 1.5 years. I was wanting to hit the job market towards the end of this year, but now I worry that if I do move companies, the recession could put me in position of last one hired first one fired. Is it better to stay put?
