I’m due to qualify as a Solicitor in 6 months and in two minds.

Do I stay on, get the qualified experience then look for a new job (purely for exposure) or should I take a career break for 6 months. I’ve heard it’s harder to get a job after a break.

Just want to hear some outside noise on the topic - no special reason for either decision.

I can’t speak to the ease of finding work on your side of the pond. But extended breaks with no work interruptions are VERY rare in this profession. I took a 6 month sabbatical in my 28th year of practice and it was magic. If you can make it work I recommend taking the break because it’s going to be awhile before you get another.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Started talking to this guy through group a group telegram and one day he offered to pay for my lunch as I had helped him out with something. Since then he has been offering to pay for my dinners, salon visits, shopping etc and I have accepted 3-4 times. I am in a steady relationship and my boyfriend doesn’t know about this. The other guy just says he likes paying for my stuff and there’s no agenda. Is this a little weird?
