I would recommend start looking for better opportunities elsewhere and then leave if you are not getting what you deserve in your current firm. I have seen that loyalty to the company no longer holds any meaning, and you are easily replaced or let go. Feel the job market and see what skillsets needs to be updated and work towards it. Best of luck!
Yeah unfortunately I agree with this. The market is tough right now so it's likely you won't be able to leave immediately anyway, so looking for other opportunities would give you a sense of what's out there and give you time to find out if your current employer is going to honor the promotion. But at least you'll be feeling a little more in control of your situation if you can start applying to other things
Have you brought up the promotion they promised? I think if you had a sit down with your manager and explained your case you could receive it right then and there it’s not uncommon. If you’ve exhausted that option there’s no reason not to look externally
I would say now if you feel the job responsibility level has outpaced the compensation. If you feel comfortable speaking to your supervisor, then you may choose to have a discussion about where you are professionally, where you want to go and your expectations for compensation. I have had these discussions with my subordinates and they have gone well more often than not. Bring data and have a logical argument for your position.
Good luck and be your own advocate.
