I’m really advanced with Excel and Alteryx, I even can create macros for my team and considered the technology rockstar. How do you transition from big 4 consulting to big law? My clients are all funds, and I do international tax consulting. I have used my connections to refer me into probably 10 big law firms and it’s not working. One most recently came back and said they aren’t interested bc I have no law firm experience. How am I supposed to get it though? I can’t go to lower ranked firms bc my clients are all “big.” … any suggestions appreciated!

Any thoughts/experiences on Big4 vs law firms? I started at Big4 straight out of law school. Not sure how easy or worth while it would be to transition to a law firm, at some point.

I had a non traditional path out of law school because I graduated at the height of the Great Recession and my mother was seriously I’ll with cancer. I’ve worked for 2 big four firms in internal positions within compliance/regulatory for a total of 6+ years and am ready to make a move. What is my next best one? Is it totally impossible for me to go to a law firm?

Any thoughts on leaving M&A tax Senior Associate / manager position for a tax attorney position at the IRS Office of Associate Chief Counsel? Considering the person would have to take a pay cut to join the IRS, is it worth it for professional growth and learning?

Anyone in B4 M&A tax left to get a JD? Currently a CPA and considering the jump.

Any big4 lawyers who transitioned to the IRS office of chief counsel (national office)? How do you like compared to big 4? I am particularly concerned about having to be in person (at the office) 2-3 days a week.
