I'm finishing up my tax LLM and I feel like I know nothing. Once I'm done, and after a little break, I start in public accounting as a tax associate in international tax. What are the keys to being successful in my role and how do I set myself up for success?

Haha I felt the same way coming out of my llm. I think a llm is valuable in the sense that it can open the doors to your first job and you certainly learn a ton but you rlly learn more on the job IMO.

It’s hard to wrap your head around convoluted tax concepts from reading a book but when the facts are there in real life (in a slide deck) it’s easier and sticks better

With that said, just have a good attitude and show willingness to learn. At a public accounting firm, ppl don’t care whether you are a cpa, jd, or jd/llm. An associate is an associate.

Hi All,

Need some career advice.

I have a year of experience in a clinical ops role where learning is quite stagnant. I’m eagerly looking to transition to good challenging opportunities in life science consulting/analytics and allied domains. Which organisations/startups/roles should one apply to being a non-technical applicant with a masters in biotechnology?

It would be really helpful to get your guidance on further course of action.

TIA!

I’m 27 & going to go to back to college for my bachelors. I have worked in the legal field for about 8 years & I’m burnt out. After a lot of research an thought I am leaning towards either architecture or interior design. I wanted to ask some advice from anyone working as an architect or interior designer. How do you feel about the field? What are the stress levels like? Do you enjoy it? Are you working at firm or are you working independently? Any info helps! Thanks 😊

Hi, I’m a tax professional but want to transition into a coding role such as bot coder and artificial intelligence. I’m really advanced with Excel and Alteryx, I even can create macros for my team and considered the technology rockstar. Do you recommend any certifications such as UIpath for my future career change? I’d also be interested in how to work for Google someday coding artificial intelligence and machine learning.

I have not had formal training so just learning on the HUB and by doing as I go.
But I feel like I need to focus on one area. I cannot decide how/ what though.
Happy Holidays!
Thank you.
