I'm in a niche SL in EY overseas, recently made manager in under two years. I have US citizenship and plan on moving back to the states in two years. I don't have an MBA, and did my undergrad in finance overseas. Ultimately I want to move to strategy consulting. Should I leverage my new title and try and move to McKinsey or Strategy& overseas and see about transferring to the states, or should I stay with EY for a year as manager and try to get into strategy consulting when I'm stateside?

Thanks. I agree, it's more the fact that I was promoted quickly-from staff-senior-manager I want to leverage. Without an MBA, I figure it will be harder in the states. Maybe I'll go for an MBA this year. Thanks again for your answer!

I would be really hesitant about any title you received outside of NA and how it will translate. I’d get on shore and then figure out whatever you’re about.

(Also, congratulations!)

I doubt EY manager has any leverage at McKinsey. Maybe it does outside the US.

With that said, you can also try to transfer from EY consulting to EY Parthenon at US. You might have a better shot at MBB or other strategy firm from EYP

Thanks for your answer. How difficult is it to move from EY Tax to EY-P? My partner most likely will not like to see me go, so I'm not counting on a recommendation.
