I’m in my 4th year at a small plaintiffs’ firm. Past two years I’ve received meager raises (5k) and terrible bonuses (3k). My boss prides himself on allowing me to gain experience so I have more courtroom experience than most attorneys with twice the experience. As I’ve applied for other firms, I’ve been denied interviews based on how my boss is perceived in the community. I’ve gathered professional references from opposing attorneys and other attorneys we work with but still can’t land. Help

Got offer from Cognizant and Infosys.. Where Cognizant offering more package almost 1.5 Lpa mor, but heard lot of negative review on social media like they don't have good project, no job security, they will make you to work on other tech etc . Is it true ? Share some pro and cons that will be greate .. thnks

Can anyone who has taken a career sabbatical to travel/explore other interests share their experience with both leaving their jobs and returning to the legal field?
I really want to live in Asia for a year at least before I have to settle down and start a family. I’m not getting younger but don’t want to be reckless with my career.

When lateraling to another defense firm, is it necessary to show billable hours at current firm?

Feel like I am potentially on the verge of developing tendonitis / carpal tunnel. I try to keep my (standing) desk ergonomically aligned but the reality is that I spend 8-14 hrs a day typing (and, probably, tense) and I’m concerned about rendering myself physically unable to do this job. Bit of a niche topic: I’ve been in TS/SCI processing for a Science/Tech/Weapons analyst position with the CIA for 3 yrs since I finished grad school in chemistry, but CIA positions are sort of set it and forget it since they can take so long. I’ve since been focused on a Patent Attorney track and am with a firm that will support me taking the patent bar/law school. Protocol for responding (or not) to unsolicited emails from recruiters to your work email? In other words, is it acceptable to just ignore without a response? Or do you prefer to keep the line open with a brief “thanks for thinking of me, I am not interested at this time but hope we can collaborate in the future.”

Best big law firms in DC?

How does one go about finding a new position after moving to a different state? Considering moving, but the idea of starting over in a new jurisdiction I would know nothing about seems intimidating. Currently work for a small firm that doesn’t, and wouldn’t, have a presence in potential new state.

I’m in a bit of a unique situation career wise, being an attorney but not currently practicing and working as a legal analyst for a company. It’s a “JD preferred” position but I don’t find my skills being utilized and I’m looking to pivot but kind of lost as to what my options are since my position is niche. Anyone pivot from something niche to something more broad?

If you and your girlfriend went to law school together, were you together the night the bar results came back? What if one of you doesn’t pass / and the other feels like they can’t celebrate?
