I'm in Ontario, Canada, and keep seeing Graphic Designer listings asking for post-secondary education plus years of experience, yet offering anywhere from minimum wage to $65K.

For context, Ontario’s Low-Income Workers Credit applies up to $66K (individuals) or $113K (families). The federal tax credit is for those with a gross salary of $75K and $91K or less.

Are employers and recruiters just this out of touch with the cost of living? Or are they full-blown psychopaths who couldn't care less?

I interviewed for a role with the Enterprise Risk Team at EY. I told them my salary requirements were $105 k before the interview. They said it should be ok if I'm brought in as a Senior 1. After the interview, they said they want to bring me in as a Staff2 at $84k with $3k signing bonus. I'm trying to get on a call to negotiate further...do these numbers sound right to you all?

Hello friends, looking at a JP opportunity and hopefully going into the offer process after today’s interview. What I need help is understanding the comp structure in non front office roles ? In Goldman we have PATC ( per annum total comp ) which is nothing but base + “promised” bonus % + RSU.. how do you have total comp defined in JP ? the bonus also a % of base and almost agreed upon ? Example my bases is 200k and bonus is 25 % etc ?

Senior engineer making 135k and I was offered a promotion to engineering manager after completing a development plan. Near the end of the plan and I expect compensation talks to start soon. Based on some research around Boston and my role in the company, I feel 165k plus 10-15% bonus is fair. Nonetheless, first time going through something like this and asking for thoughts and comments.
