I’m looking to get promoted to ACD, AD. My boss has already told me that it doesn’t look like anyone on our team is getting promoted. Is there any this I can do to present myself as being ready for the promotion? For reference, they told me that I would be promoted last year and pulled it out from under me at that time as well. Hi all, negotiating with HR on salary for a new AS position and want to know what’s fair. I was an AE for two years, took a promotion at another agency for SAE for only 8 months and am now being recruited for AS at 80k. All of my agencies have been large, I’ve worked on pharma and a large global account, I also started “managing” at the AE level due to my team’s structure. Is $80k fair? Thanks!

At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. I believe I'm on track to promotion in the next year. So, I could put in a year of full time school to check the box off, but I'd be sacrificing hobbies and social life (not to mention cost). Is this FOMO or is there real opportunity here?

Should I move back to audit as manager?

I left one of the B4 as an S1 and joined another B4 an S2 in consulting. I have an opportunity to move back as an audit manager which would be an early promotion by over a year.

Would this move make sense if partner was a potential end goal?

How does one tell their boss (owner of the company) that you are burnt out? CTR, contracts and department overhaul

our marketing dept is undergoing a complete overhaul. under old leadership, a $75k 12-mo contract was signed to a marketing group that handles our SEO, blog and everything Google Ads. All things I can and am in training to do. Current CTRs on G ads seem pitiful at no more than 0.75%. My meta ads coast around 4-6%. During this overhaul, would it be wise to not renew our contract, and negotiate for me to take over these roles and leverage a raise?

Little background:

Asked for promotion in late 2020 - was required to skill up, after skilling up, asked again about when I'll be promoted and was denied because there is no "vacancy" for it.
Got my annual hike in Oct 2021 without the promotion. I asked HR last week again and got a random announcement email saying my promotion is w.e.f Oct 2021. ( and no raise for the newly promoted role).

I’m an associate attorney at a mid-size family law practice. (5 attorneys, 3 support staff). I’ve been here for 3 years and just asked for a raise to $130k from $90k. My annual billable target is 1400. However, since I’ve been here I’ve barely broken 1000 despite working my ass off. I bill out at $375. They told me no more raises unless I start taking my own cases. Now they just hired a new associate and are paying him $170k and he takes his own cases. Am I being unreasonable asking for $130k?
