I’m on the leadership team at my company. We grade all our staff on job effectiveness, company values and other factors. There’s a huge disconnect between my and others’ perception of my number 2. They think I have blind spots regarding her. I think they’re incredibly unfair. Examples they cite seem so immaterial and the feedback on her seems rude and not constructive relative to feedback on others. Never experienced such a disconnect. Feels like I’m fighting a war I can’t win. Any advice?

Just got let go and my manager said part of it was because I was looking for other jobs. I once called someone in the 'C' suite out for being completely disorganized. I followed it up by offering project management advice. The conversation got pretty heated. I still have my job and we seem to have moved past it but I wonder if that interaction will have a negative consequence down the road. I don't regret it and would do it again, just maybe a little more tactfully but I was looking out for my operation and one of the managers that reports to me.

I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks.
