@OP, Depends what you mean by "Sales". Like any professional services business, there's some degree of selling/growing accounts to keep your agency healthy. Even if you're not the AE managing contracts, you could be a creative with additional business ideas/opps that you'd pitch. Which aspects of "selling" or BD are you willing to do VS not?
I’m trying to get away from the cold calling and door knocking. The referrals I don’t mind at all
Can you elaborate what you mean by sales? Are you a sales executive? Or are you on the agency side and don’t like dealing with sales reps?
Cold calling and setting up meetings to sell airtime. Then coming up with the solutions which I like.
Account executives at companies like Google, Facebook, and Amazon have to sell ad placements. If you are an AE at more of a creative agency you are obviously helping “sell” in a creative concept but you are without a quota, there is a lot of involvement in the creative work internally, and you are more focused on the client relationship.
Like many of the other comments you have to elaborate what you mean by sales. Almost every job in the world revolves around selling something. There are many agency jobs (strategy, creatives, etc) where you're not involved with purchasing things or sales reps and are more about the art and design of the campaigns if that's what u mean
Yea you won't find that in ad agencies. You can probably look up specific positions but all in all you'll be fine with any of them.
if you’re in-house or brand side, then you can will generally encounter that more. If you are at an ad agency, not so much.
I'd suggest pivoting to the creative side of things if you are looking for more hands-on, behind-the-scenes type roles vs. customer facing.
I worked in creative agencies and haven’t had to deal with sales. Look into creative agencies?
