I'm so burnt out.

But I feel guilty because compared to how hard some of my team is working, I don't feel justified in being burnt out as they're doing and contributing so much more. I know if I ask for help or more balance, I'll get it but it just means my team suffers more and takes on my slack.

How do you navigate? I'm starting to seriously under perform and there's no end in sight.

We all feel ya, you’re not alone! When you’re burnt out, you’re burnt out - try to remember you don’t need to justify where you’re at by comparing yourself to others.

Could you change up the scenery? Work from a new spot? Get away for the weekend? Try a new routine on workdays? I think getting outside in some way to get perspective does wonders.

Best of luck and hang in there, be diligent about finding some time (and fresh air) for yourself every day (even if it’s a fleeting few minutes). You got this and will totally own it when you make it to the other side.

Lets us discuss why Indian companies expects/forces/ us to work more than 9 hours but in timesheet we have to fill 8.
Managers schedule meeting after office hours and expects us to be available always.

Sorry to say this but I have seen only Indians who work extra hours. What's even funny is that the upper management laugh at foreigners who work exactly 8hours.

Should we not change our mentality?
What should we do to not follow this anymore?

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

I ask because I’ve let my credit spending get a bit lax since moving and adopting a puppy recently, so I haven’t been paying them off in full every month like I used to (though still well above the minimum payment, and keeping utilization at 30% or under). It got me thinking about how many people adhere to this advice.
