No offense but not even close

I'm from Europe and INSEAD is huge in Europe just like HEC Paris or London Business School. But again, Harvard is also pretty well known here. I'm not sure if INSEAD is that well known in America? If I were given the choice, I'd definitely go for Harvard.

like

INSEAD is awesome - great international community, highly ranked. Comparable with M7. Harvard is the stronger brand but INSEAD seems like a cooler/more rewarding experience.

likefunny

Hahah Deloitte sucks but that was funny

like

Depends on if you want to pursue prestige or experience. Chances are you’ll like the people more at INSEAD but it won’t open up as many doors as HBS.

like

Well naturally it’s speculation. But if OP is looking into working abroad (and particularly INSEAD), then they clearly value international experience and interest in other cultures. Not saying that doesn’t exist at HBS just saying that it will be missing from a lot of people’s profiles comparatively.

like

HBS no brainer

like

Not even close. Not worth comparing

like

Short term goal of working abroad insead>harvard, easier to recruit probably, that said, Harvard can get you in the door anywhere. Brand is not comparable globally. I’d say no brainer Harvard

Hbs. Also I’d love to hear tips!

Like I’m shocked this is even a question.

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

Currently creating spend analysis and doing vendor onboarding work for my company. It’s becoming a little mundane after 3-4 years. This was my first job out of college and I don’t really know how I got into this path. Graduated in business management and marketing. I am super creative and feel like a need a job that allows me to showcase that, but not sure what. Wondering if anyone works in the business world but also mixes with the creative side.

During the 1st interview, I learned that the compensation for the role is not within the range that I am looking for and requires 400 more billable hours a year than what I bill now. I’d basically be laterally for my current salary just to bill 400 more hours. I also wasn’t aware that the local office was strictly ID. Firm website advertises lots of practice areas. Any advice? At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. I believe I'm on track to promotion in the next year. So, I could put in a year of full time school to check the box off, but I'd be sacrificing hobbies and social life (not to mention cost). Is this FOMO or is there real opportunity here?

Having tough time deciding between IB & Consulting. My thought process: I have a "better" background for IB (TAS/valuation) and with tech layoffs, this might push more potential would-be tech applications to pursue consulting (there by increased competition)? Additionally, you can do IB intern and full time consulting but not vice versa. I prefer consulting, but IB seems like the "safer" option? And if consulting does get hit hard, I would hopefully have a full time IB offer via internship.
