Is it wrong for me to expect either a promotion or to be paid to train this person?

I don’t know what’s going so wrong.

I have applied to 42 jobs and received 20 rejections, with 0 opportunities to even interview.

My resume is from WSO template, and I used suggested wording from various popular resume websites.

I don’t understand why I’ve gotten such a large amount of rejections. Am I applying to position in under or over qualified for? Does my resume suck? Is it just a bad time to apply? How do I improve from here?

First 2 years for CSR is about to be over, and I’m looking at the value of the card against the annual fee. Combined with my other cards (Chase Freedom Unlimited & Flex) and deducting the $300 travel fee, the net benefit is $76. Is that enough to justify keeping the card? The lounge access at airports were a nice benefit, never got to use it since my client travel was through Amtrak.

I’m a third year, and am the most junior person all of my teams (generally me, a senior or two, and a partner or two), and I always feel like I’m messing something up. Is this just because I never get to work with other juniors and don’t see the mistakes they make, and that it’s relatively normal? And FWIW I went to HYS and I’ve had a clerkship so it’s not like I’m not smart

Any corp associates looking to move from biglaw to a boutique? My firm remains busy and is looking to bring on a couple associates. Do any single M&A associates have dogs? I am a third year at a generally work from home flexible firm and considering getting a dog for mental and physical health reasons. Has having a dog been an issue with work? And any tips for bringing a dog home while working insane hours with occasional trips to the office?

Joined a big firm (Big4) not long a go and starting to feel like I got a good grip on my current work.

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I’ve worked twice as hard and feel like I’ve barely even gotten half as much. It’s discouraging sometimes especially because I worked so hard with pretty much no guidance (first gen, poc, low-income) to get into college and do well and then get into a t30 law school

About to finish my first year. I’m a specialist. Only going to hit 65% of my hours (took a 4 week vacation cause of wedding/hm).

I never say no to work and i have fantastic reviews, and the head of my practice (with whom I work a lot for) has great things to say about me.

I’ve been fully utilized starting ~June, but first few months were slow. Am i fine?!

Anyone experience emotional burnout on this job? I’m physically fine - not particularly overworked, getting enough sleep etc. But I get overwhelmed having to code-switch as a junior to cater to the different working styles and personalities of all my different seniors and clients. I feel emotionally drained and anxious feeling like I have so many bosses to “please.”

Random partner asked a litigation-related question to a partner I frequently work with (i’m a transactional associate). My partner cc’d me and said for me to briefly look. Asked the library. They got me a great case. Sent it back. Now the random partner is asking for more cases in another circuit.

I haven’t done caselaw research since 1L and this isn’t even my practice… wtf do I do (I am fully utilized in my normal work and have a few deals closing soon…)
