I’m tired of pretending this job doesn’t burn me out. Between increasing caseloads, micromanaging leadership, and systems that crash every other day, it’s not sustainable. Is anyone actually thriving in insurance right now, or are we all just coasting on caffeine and compliance deadlines?

Insurance is more than just claims…switch over to underwriting

Caseloads seem to be higher. I would discuss with manager how you can best prioritize if you have a good manager. It will not sound like a complaint but instead a question about efficiency.

Things were manageable, even easy. Overnight it’s gone to chaotic. I’m back to skipping breaks, playing catch up, moving too fast and having items appear faster than I can address them. We were overstaffed. Now we’re understaffed.

I just started with a company as an HR Generalist. Within the 3 weeks of being there, my boss’s boss left, and today I found out my boss gave notice. HR is not valued at the company and it’s disheartening to know I was hired into a mess. I am now actively looking but how do I explain to other employers why I am actively looking and what do I put on my resume? I have never had to deal with this before.

What would happen if I left my current company, started at a new one, and got pregnant before 12 months of service with the new company? For reference, I know new company requires 12 months for FMLA, and STD is 3 months.

If I’m not eligible for FMLA, what would that leave situation look like? Not currently pregnant but husband and I are wanting to start trying soon, just don’t want to be in a situation where I can’t take maternity leave. TIA!

Just made a career pivot and accepted a job with Progressive in sales. I’ve heard more good things than bad about the company. I turned down Liberty and Allstate so I’m hoping I made the right choice. Curious if anyone works there can offer their opinion about what it’s like working for Progressive.
