It’s about scale. She’ll hire a skeleton team to pump out stuff for brands, use her own massive reach to amplify the work, she’ll show higher impact on paper than agencies and sell to McKinsey or something.
By the way if you’re reading this and were one of the people who advised your agency or holding company to decouple media from creative, your career legacy is hurting the industry. This podcaster is eating your lunch because of it.
Yep. Soon she'll be as insufferable as Ryan Reynolds's
Cash grab anyone?

What ad agency in the history of the world hasn't been a cash grab lol
We are parasites making a product people hate and pay to avoid on behalf of real products people actually want.
They hired a GCD I worked with at Monks, Stephie Coplan. Really, really smart person.

Imma withhold judgement (and excitement) for a bit. There are lots of celebrity owned agencies and most of them suck despite the contacts they have access to.
Ryan’s is good bc George Dewey is very good and always has been.
Is this the ad world version of hawk Tua crypto? It will be full of pr hacks and influencers.
Damn, I was actually excited. Was even going to ask if folks might even have a connect at UnWell. If you do, hmu. Yes, there a lot celebrity run agencies but my thought process, join them to least impact work with some craft especially if you come from creative shop.
They will likely hire one agency leader to be the business lead, like Ian Schafer at Issa Rae's brand studio. But the model is usually relatively junior creatives and production people rather than ECDs because the founder is the big idea.

As if we weren’t big enough whores already…
Sorry, who?

And Terry Crews

And a bunch of other celebrities who think this sh*t is easy.
I can only shake my head and ask why?
It’s the same as Ryan, Ben, and other celebs who’ve done it. Glad to see another woman with a much larger relevant platform and audience. But it’s no different than a skip the agency and work with client path. Smart but she’ll sell like the rest within in 2 years. Or she’ll pull a manning bros and triple dip by putting themselves in everything (talent fees), using their teams (production fees) and developing the idea (agency fees).
Ryan is the most insufferable. Glad he's now a billionaire. Maybe soon he will stop with the nonstop talking on terrible ads for Chinese phones
