I’m wondering how much my degree is really coming into my jobs, have people seen more success due to what they ended up studying at university or is having a degree enough for most places?

All having a degree does is check a box. Employers don't really care about the name on the degree, just that you have one. The only thing that really matters, or should, is the professional experience you've accumulated post-graduation.

Yeah I’ve noticed a lot of places ask for one but don’t much care for what it’s in.

In my experience, what you get your degree in doesn’t really matter. It can matter for specialized degrees or certain industries, but for me, it hasn’t made much difference. What mattered was that I had a degree.

Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations

Hey fishes, recently got an offer of 245k plus a bonus, but no specificity and at least 3% cost of living annual raise. My current job I make 150k plus a 20% bonus and an annual cost of living raise anywhere from 2-3.5%. Have been in my current position about a year. Things have been a bit bumpy (not a me issue) I have a new supervisor and was recently given 7 direct reports (I had zero before). The new position while comes with a significant raise is a move to California. Any thoughts?

Should I Go Back and Reneg? Recently I was offered a role as a Project Implementation Manager (In Retirement Services) .The salary range for Colorado residents was 65-89K. I accepted already but may get an offer from another HR company in account management around 90-100K. Need advice
