I’m working in a law firm where we get dumped hundreds of tasks and cases — all a mess — and shuffled around over and over from other teams. I spoke with another attorney who confirmed we are all working 12 hours or more a day, and it is not humanly possible to keep up with everything. So I know I’m not imagining there’s a problem. There r other issues too. The pay is good. That’s the only thing that’s not a problem. If u express ur struggles, u don’t get help. I’m annoyed. I need to get out.

Is there an appropriate way to turn down an assignment because it is non-billable? Two of the partners I work for keep asking me to write client bulletins and articles with them, which is great, but now I’m starting to worry about meeting my billable hours requirement.

I need an assistant/paralegal. Probably part time at first. I live/work in a small city in Oklahoma, solo practice. I would like approx 10 billable hours/week (if part time) from them. What do i look for in one? Pay amount? (Most here make around $12/hour). Incentives for bonus money?

How are 1st year litigation associates dealing with WFH? I’ve been having terrible anxiety/panic attacks, and pretty sure my billables wont exceed 110 for April. I’ve been super stressed about it and don’t know how to move on to May with the proper mindset to make up for as much time missed as possible.
