Currently booked with a project rate. Timelines have shifted and agency asked if I was interested in staying on till the end. Would it be safe to assume they would adjust the rate to accommodate the new length? How do I go about approaching this?

Struggling with JE’s for earnouts paid post-acquisition. Amounts were paid out to former owners in a prior period. I think the entry was Dr. accrued expense; Cr. Cash. Now it’s sitting in accrued exp, so I asked why and the client says it was wrong and is reclassing now by Dr. Investment in Sub; Cr. Accrued Exp. (Investment in sub rolls up into current liability.) Does this make sense? I’m so confused about what this should be.
