Does anyone have any insights on what a typical Sr. Associate Director makes at Boehringer Ingelheim? I have a range of 170-180k which I think is fair but don’t want to be underpaid. Also, any information regarding retirement planning or medical/dental benefits would be helpful. Haven’t gotten much out of HR. Thanks in advance!

The work life balance is a key for me. Getting married soon and starting a family. Need to be around more. Plus, the benefits of the new firm are great (nice people, great time off policies, etc.).
It may be difficult for you to jump back to big law, but it shouldn’t be difficult getting back into commercial lit
F. This happened to me too. I thought I would enjoy plaintiff work much better but stuck with comm lit for the stable income I want to make the jump eventually
What is the comp structure for the PI firm? This is important and varies from firm to firm
I would really try to find a firm that also gives you a cut of cases you don’t bring in, unless that’s what your year-end bonus will take care of. Knowing you have a monetary interest in every case you settle, whether it be on you brought in yourself or just one assigned to you, is a real motivator
I would make sure all the things you are asking for (work life balance, good environment) are actually true. I would ask as many questions as possible as they will probably be immensely happy to have someone like you with big law experience.
