In my first interview (new to the country and without proper research), I shared a salary expectation and clarified I wasn’t familiar with local ranges. In the second interview, they referenced exactly that number as the proposed salary. I’ve since learned it’s well below market level. I now have a final interview scheduled. How can I renegotiate and align closer to market standards after anchoring too low initially? For context I'm a young expat, woman and it's a big company.

Im currently going through industry change.
Im a pastry cook with 4yrs experience and the average salary start for this position is now at $22/hr here in vegas, especially in the strip. But cooking/baking is not my passion. So im changing into veterinary medicine and im seeing that the starting rate for a vet tech is around $16-18. Why is that?? Why are people in the vet med industry being paid so low?? Something needs to change. Labor of love aint enough for the people in this job.

They responded back telling me that they’ll have an update for me the next week. Again I emailed them on Thursday asking if they have anything for me before the long weekend ( Good Friday & Easter).
