Race doesn't matter in our department. We're diverse in *that* way. But I'd sure as hell never share politics as I'm in a hyper conservative area and even being middle-of-the road makes you a target.

What State are you in exactly? I personally have not been to other departments who celebrate the LGBT community. It's still very bigoted and macho up where I am.
No it does not. Good for you, but I don't think that your experience is universal. Seldom do you think about law enforcement and acceptance. Though race is now commonly accepted unlike the early days
I am happy to hear that. That should be the case for all departments. Racial and gender discrimination has no place in our department too. I will be the first one to step for someone getting discriminated against.
There's equal opportunity for employment in my department put that doesn't mean officers won't make prejudice or micro aggressive comments from time to time
I'm glad to hear that. I think it's possible but it's seldom given across the country, unfortunately.
This is quite refreshing to read. I hope we have more of that around the world. Respect is all we need. We do have some issues but we don't tolerate any of it.
We have come a long way at our department. With years of working, I definitely saw how things have progressed for the better.
There still are some controversies surrounding some of our gay employees but I'm just happy that it's not the same as it was before.
I don't see signs of hate at our department. It's safe space for everyone. It's one thing I'm most proud of. Respect is a big deal in our office.
I love that the industry is becoming more accepting of our differences. I hope it remains like this. We have no room for hate and disrespect whatsoever.

Our local department is nowhere near that situation. I know it doesn't happen everywhere. But I am glad you have a respectful environment.
