That’s a no for me dog
I tell them my policy is to not do test work unless it’s paid at my standard freelance rate.
Present a campaign you already made in your interview
Various 1
NOPE
NO way, at that level, should you have to create a spec campaign to get a job.
Gross.
Hard pass
In-house?
Lesson learned. I did this a few months back ONLY because I loved, loved, loved the company and already had multiple positive interviews with the boss and assistant boss. It felt more like a formality.
It was multiple spec projects where I burned the midnight oil for 3 days. It was solid work that matched or exceeded their portfolio. Boss said she loved them and felt they were super innovative.
Then got the standard HR email, "We're looking at other better suited candidates. Thank you."
Who knows what happened but I'll have to figure out how to decline doing that again if I love the company.
That’s insane. I’m sorry they wasted your time. What company?
Happened to me once and for the same role. Ended up being a big red flag. Try to avoid those places IMO.
