Yes imo. As a firm, D loves to overestimate the M rank, because they’ve shoehorned in an additional junior rank.
Functionally, they serve the same purpose. Don’t let recruiters at D tell you otherwise :)
Yes to this! The manager in my project right now completely isn't exhibiting project manager skills. Project is so messy right now.
While an SC at Deloitte is less of an individual contributor than an SC at EY, yes, they have no managed revenue and sales led KPIs like managers, and they’re not forced to lead a work stream (usually only more tenured SCs do) - they can be a complete IC.
Manager is a leadership role - a manager at Deloitte is a manager at EY and a manager at PwC.
A1, what do your bonuses look like?
And that's a correct salary range for Deloitte Managers.
A manager at EY would be more similar to a senior consultant at Deloitte
Untrue and I have been at both
No it won’t A1 - that’s wrong. Managers from EY and deloitte change firms at same rank, I’ve been at both
Thank you
What's an EM?
Deloitte and EY have very similar staff levels. Manager at both places mean the same. Don't let anyone else convince you otherwise :-)
Same role - same manager expectations across B4.
Same. I would venture to say deloittes SC is the equivalent of an early mgr at EY too.
They are equivalent, and rumour has it that D pays slightly more than EY.
Been a manager at D now same role at KPMG and it’s the exact same. Can’t imagine EY would be any different. Don’t listen to this Senior at D = manager elsewhere nonsense. I wouldn’t trust half my seniors at D to lead a client call.
Same
An SC at D may be equivalent to a junior M at other B4 because of the extra rank, but things even out between the M/SM levels at D, so progression to SM at any B4 firm is pretty similar. Every B4 recruiter will tell you that their [rank] is actual the equivalent to 1 rank higher.
