Nah it gets real hood out there
You might get attacked by a bear, but otherwise you might get apologized to death by the Canadians
It's safe, compared to most places. If you're coming from the US, it's safer.
Backpacking is a little difficult because it's bear country. Just get a good food canister and be vigilant.
One cool thing is that there are so many trees it's possible to use a hammock instead of a tent, so you can save a couple of pounds in your pack. Water is also really clean, so I don't take a water filter and just use water purification tablets.
Safe as in "Will bears eat me if I camp out in the open and leave food around?" or safe as in "will i get shot by a disgruntled (fill in the blanks) person?"? If former - no, not safe at all if you leave food around - plenty of bears.
Not safe. It's in Alberta. 🤣
Safe as in crime? Yeah. Safe as in getting lost in the woods and dying? Not so much
Beautiful and safe place. Planning to snowboard there at some point. Lake Louise is 🌅
Super safe and awesome place to visit
lol it's Canada of course it's safe (but yes also I've been to Banff and it's everything you'd dream it to be)
Bears will get hu
Been planning to do a solo trip there myself. Seems like there are a lot of cool hostels in the area too!
Camped all over there. Not as many bears as one might think. And as far as human predators go, they have psycho killers in Canada too, but I'd let my kids run around the streets of banff at 2 in the morning without fear.
If you're afraid of the bears, go to Switzerland. It's like Banff, but there are no bears!
lol probably a little pricier to go to Switzerland huh
