Yes that is one angle. But my balance on these debit cards is because of credit card spending. Basically credit card spend generates virtual debit cards that can be used online for anything. Cap on fee is 1% of transaction value but can think more if it is higher. DM if you have anything in mind and maybe we can tag team to determine scalability
Look at store credit cards. Many allow you to make a payment in store using a debit card. If you "accidently" overpaid, you can request a refund check.
Especially stores that do their own in-house card servicing (eg, they don't use Citibank or Synchrony).
