Depends what kind of reputation you want to have as a company. I think a rude customer will likely know they were being rude and if you maintain professional etiquette they will appreciate that and be more likely to refer you in the future
Depends what customers you are willing to put up with. Sometimes “excuse me, but you’re going to need to find another contractor” is the right apology.

Yea like everyone above said it just depends. If they are being direspectful and outright hateful then no, I don't apolgoize beause some people need to be put in their place.
