The new worldwide CCO will be based in LA and he is Argentinian-Swedish. He’s currently running the Singapore office and waiting to move.
He has hired a Brazilian, Rafael Rizuto as CCO of BBH NY and an Australian as CCO of BBH London. They’re all waiting to take up their new posts but the lockdown has kept them in their previous countries/cities. They’re all technically white guys, but they’re not British or American.

“Whataboutism” the corner stone of woke white privilege. Well done, let’s tear each other down a bit more.
I understand your sentiment but let's not label everything that doesn't include a POC automatically as "racist". Hiring bias would be the better term (unless employees have experienced racism directly while working there)
@R/GA to answer your question about why it might be a problem to label the entire agency as “racist.” I don’t think it’s a problem as much as I think it’s just unhelpful. If we accept that the world and its institutions are almost entirely impacted by racism to some degree, it becomes unhelpful to label this or that organization as “racist” because it doesn’t really add much to what we already know is an issue, everywhere. It tends to make things a binary sorting exercise of good/bad, instead of a nuanced appraisal of specific actions or procedures.
So rathe than say “this agency hired another white guy into a leadership posting, they are racist” it might be more productive to say “this agency tends to pretty exclusively hire white people into positions of leadership, it seems racial bias is influencing their hiring process.”
The latter feels like it’s calling out a specific behavior that can be corrected whereas the former feels like it’s just banishing an organization to the evil pile.
...and R/GA is the rainbow coalition at the top. 🙄
Who? What?
Nearly every Brit I’ve met in the US ad industry is a planner.
And even if that is the case, the creative standard is still much higher than the US.
I’ve never met a person of color that worked for BBH, and I’ve been in this business for 15 years ... and lived/worked in all three major hubs
Maybe you just haven’t met the right people? There are POC at BBH...
There is a lack of diversity in leadership positions in BBH overall throughout all the offices. I’ve worked there and you could tell how POC employees are always never considered for those positions. Maybe things have changed.
What do you mean another
I’m a POC who reached out to BBH and they ghosted me

Isn’t BBH not originally an American agency though?

Y'all don't be half smart and spew the most bs to defend your racist backgrounds.
As a POC who has worked at BBH, yes. There is a lot of unconscious bias.
Brazilian white people are technically Portuguese and since Portugal is part of Europe — its the same thing.
I live in Brazil and my wife is Brazilian with European heritage.
They are very non-diverse, but the new LA CSO was moving someone internally from London to the states — not a new hire
